Listening for Professional Development
Listening for professional development
book aims to equip students with competence in understanding English listening
in a professional (non-academic) context and foster cross-cultural awareness
and sensitivity. It also supports the development (professionalism) of students
(or graduates) and the skills of educators. The materials consist of learning
achievements in life, writing good personal data, business and ethics, making
complaints, conference calls, emotional intelligence, interviewing techniques,
doing business globally, motivation, public relations, and building
relationships. This book provides imitative, intensive, or interactive
listening exercises, such as listening and repeating, understanding, and
inferring. In addition, this book allows educators to give assignments to
students individually and in groups, as well as carry out assessments in the
form of written tests (filling in the blanks, matching, and completing sentences).
